A CHRISTMAS STORY

Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, this beloved holiday movie follows the wintry exploits of youngster Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley), who spends most of his time dodging a bully (Zack Ward) and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a "Red Ryder air rifle." Frequently at odds with his cranky dad (Darren McGavin) but comforted by his doting mother (Melinda Dillon), Ralphie struggles to make it to Christmas Day with his glasses and his hopes intact. Join us in celebration of the holidays with the whole family as we bring this 1983 classic back to the big screen at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center. The film runs approximately 95 minutes. Rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America.

Mame, the classic musical by Jerry Herman, focuses on eccentric socialite, Mame Dennis, whose famous motto is "Life is a banquet".  Her fabulous life is interrupted when the young son of her late brother arrives to live with her. But rather than conform to any social standards about child rearing, money-making and romance, Mame teaches her nephew the nature of free living and free thinking, attempting to keep him from the clutches of the uptight world.  Musically the show is packed with blockbuster Jerry Herman songs including “Mame”, “It’s Today”, “If He Walked into My Life”, “We Need a Little Christmas”, and “Bosom Buddies”.
