Synopsis

The Palatine Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Frederick Lowe, performs its Winter concert “Journeys and Explorations” on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 3:30 pm at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine.

Embark on a musical odyssey with “Journeys and Explorations,” which will transport you to faraway lands and celestial realms. This sonic expedition features excerpts from Gustav Holst’s cosmic masterpiece, “The Planets,” where each movement represents a celestial body and a new work premiered in March 2023 right here in our neighboring town of Schaumburg, Tim Corpus’ “Moonshot,” a riveting composition that blends modern soundscapes with the spirit of exploration.  “Journeys and Explorations” promises a captivating experience, where music becomes the vessel for exploration, emotion, and awe.
